Repair knot hole

I have a deck made of treated wood, which has knot holes that have popped out. Some of them go all the way through the 2x6. Is there a way to repair these without replacing the whole board? I am restaining the deck in June and the repair/patch must take stain.

I guess you could try filling the holes with wood putty, don't know how well it will hold the stain. Personally I'd say it'd be best to replace those boards that have knotholes running all the way thru if the holes are over 1" in diameter.
