Water Damaged Ceiling - Bubbling Paint
Hi all,
My ceiling has evidence of previous water damage - there is staining and some paint peeling away. The roof is tight and not leaking.
Anyway I spent the whole day sanding back the damaged areas, filling with a sandable filler and leveling everything neatly. As soon as I applied paint (water based standard ceiling white paint) it proceedes to bubble and fall away from the ceiling!!! ARARARAGH!!!
All my hard work undone. What do I do short of pulling it all down?
Any help appreciated,

Sounds like the patching material you used hasn't sufficently dried prior to painting. Also if any water stains are still evident you will need to prime them with a stain covering primer first.

Put a coat of white KILZ paint in a can on the area then come back and put a coat of primer white then let dry than put your final coat on. Make sure that the sandable filler is completely dry before painting over it it may still have moisture in it.
