Question mixing ceiling texture paint with regular ceiling paint

Is it ok to mix ceiling texture paint with regular ceiling paint? I have a gallon of american tradition <I think> texture latex paint that is very thick, thicker than mashed potatoes it seems and it's too thick for the type of texture we want to have. Is it ok to take that and mix it with the ceiling paint that goes on pink and dries white?

What type of a roller would be best to get minimal texture but enough to cover the imperfections? I don't want the ceiling to look like a "bat cave" so the more shallow the texture the better. I have a bunch of 3/4" rollers already, new, but if I had to go back to the home improvement store, that wouldn't be a problem, thankfully there's one on the way home.

Thanks in advance for your help, you're all great!

Jen

I've never used the color changing ceiling paint but I'm sure that it along with most latex's can be mixed with latex texture paint. 3/4" cover should work fine.
