Best way to clean up drywall compound? Off Cement
I had a contractor come in to tape and mud my basement, when they were finished the cleaned up their tools and scraped up all of the the "mud" that had dropped onto the concrete floor. we have decided to paint the concreate floor for now BUT i feel as though i will need to clean the floor a little better. The "mud" has filled the pours of the concrete and i am wondering how it is that people get that cleaned up. A wire brush or a push broom with some water and then mop it up before it dries or what are my options out there?

I'd get it wet, loosen it up as best you can with a brush and then suck it all up with a shop vac.

Joint compound is always water soluable, shouldn't be a problem to remove the residue. Sometimes paint or even setting compounds [like durabond] will be mistaken for joint compound - these are a lot harder to remove, not a problem is using paint but may affect floor stain depending on type and severity of whats on the concrete.
