fixing hole

The towel bar was ripped out of the wall in our bathroom. We need to fix the hole. We understand basic drywall patching, but our problem is getting the texture to match was is already on the wall (very light orange peel). We do not want to have a spot of smooth drywall where we patched. Any suggestions on what type of filler to use.

Most textures can be made with thinned down joint compound. The original texture was probably sprayed on but some textures can be duplicated with a roller or sponge. Orange peel texture can be bought in a spray can.
