Kitchen Soffit Fix

We tore down cupboards and soffit in a kitchen. Now we have a dliema on what to do next. The ceiling looks terrible as there are gouges out of the sheet rock in the ceiling. do we replace or what. At the same time we also tore out a kitchen wall to open the kitchen, dining and living room into one large room. We were thinking if we replace the dry wall
it would all have to be replace. Next problem. I also had new insulation blown into the ceiling already.

Generally you can repair drywall. Gouges and such can be filled with joint compound. Missing drywall can be replaced - all or in part.

A little better discription or some pics will help us to advise you better
