drywall mud over paint
I want to texture my bathroom walls like old-world swirled and paint a light grey.. One of your posts said I could put drywall mud over the paint once I cleaned it with TSP. My husband swears it will not adhere to the old paint and will fall off. Is there a primer I should use or is he wrong?

Welcome to the forums!
Generally joint compound will adhere to most paints. If the current paint has a sheen, it would be wise to scuff sand it [which doesn't hurt even if there is no sheen ]
If you use TSP, be sure to rinse it well!
