After taking off the paneling, there is glue left on the sheetrock. What is the best way to address this as my wife would like to have the walls painted. Thanks!

Too bad about the glue
that makes the job a lot harder
You may be able to scrape it off [it will damage the drywall but we can tell you how to repair it] Sometimes if you get it wet with mineral spirits you can scrub it off. At any rate it will require a lot of elbow grease

Believe it or not, it's faster than scraping glue if U have a lot of it.
