Drywall Finishing: Tape over seams not level

Is it okay to plaster over primer to patch, and then re-primer? I guess I've done a little of that, and it seems to dry hard and if there's a raised area and I have to sand off the primer, and plaster, is there an adherance problem with a mixed space, and then primering after finished again?

Welcome to the forums!

There shouldn't be any adhesion issues with j/c over primer/paint although shiny coatings should be roughed up a little with sandpaper first.

You do mean joint compound and not plaster, right? I don't much a lot about using plaster

No problem with compound over primer and then more primer but I would do all of the necessary sanding before re-priming

I don't much a lot about using plaster"

should have read; "I don't know much about plaster"
apparently I don't know much about typing and the english language either

.....and yes, it's a LOT easier to sand the j/c than to sand thru any paint/primer that's applied over the j/c.
