Factory edge/cut edge

How do you tape a seam with a factory edge butted to a cut edge? Do you cut away some of the cut edge?

Thanks John

Welcome to the forums John!

When possible it's best to avoid putting a factory beveled edge along a cut edge. The simplest fix would be to prefill the low side and then tape after it's dried.

You don't cut anything away. It's treated just like a butt joint. You can prefill but don't "have" to. Just smear the mud over the whole thing, bed the tape in it, wipe it down tight like you would a butt joint and then once that's dry, float it out as you would a butt joint. (wider than normal)

Welcome to the forums, BTW.
