Is Lowes Drywall ok?

I live in Southern California, I have heard of the chineese drywall scare and Lowes was accused and selling the chineese drywall in some of its east coasts stores.

Is there still any threat of this chineese Drywall left in Lowes stores?

Also just generally speaking is Lowes Drywall (national) as good as home depots USG Drywall. I thought I might get the ultra light. I am just doing a small room 12x10.

basically I can get it delivered for no extra cost at Lowes and I would have to rent a little pickup and move it myself at Home Depot...

Thanks in advance.

I would be willing to bet the Chinese drywall scare is over, but it never hurts to ake the guys at the store.

IMO drywall is drywall, regardless of brand.

I'd really be surprised if there is any of the bad chinese drywall still on the market. As far as I know there aren't any differences between the big box drywall and what you get at a drywall supply store although the drywall supplier will have a bigger selection.

btw - the bad drywall wasn't limited to california - a lot of it was sold and hung in the southeast too.

According to Wikipedia both Lowes and HD confirmed from their sources that"no
drywall sold in their stores was imported from China.

The easy way to check is to look at the manufacturer's info on the tape.
