Texturing over a textured ceiling
Greetings, I have textured (not popcorn) ceilings. The family that we bought our home from did a patch job that is noticible, and I'd like to re-texture the ceiling for it to look the same all over. Are there any simplistic techniques that I can do myself? Thanks in advance.

Actually, it's not that hard if you know which paint was used. You can buy the sand that's used for that separately. Then make a test mix. Roll it on one of the patches & compare it, to the rest of the ceiling. You'll see if more or less is needed. Then you can adjust it.

Welcome to the forums!
Do you know what type of texture is on the ceiling? A sand texture is added to paint but there are various textures made with thinned down joint compound; orange peel, knockdown, stomp to name a few.
If you could post a pic or two we'd have a better idea of what you have and need to do - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
