Need help repairing doorframe

I need some help. My contractor didn't complete our project to flatten the arches in our doorways. The top portion of the door frame open and incomplete. See attached picture.

Can I get some advice in how to handle finishing this project as I'm now stuck doing this myself?

Welcome to the forums!

It looks like you just need to install a few small pieces of drywall, add corner bead on the outside corner then mud/tape as you normally would any drywall repair

Thanks. I assume it shouldn't take very long, correct?

It's not a big job although you do have drying time between coats of mud. You could use a setting compound to speed up the process but it takes a little more skill with the application since it doesn't sand as easy as regular joint compound.

Can you show us some clearly focused pictures of the two sides. It looks like plaster. It can be fixed with drywall but it looks like you need todo some preparation first.
