Hello- soliciting some advice on repairing these cracks. Planning on mudding and taping the drywall return(s) (what I call the window sills). My main question is on the cracks on the walls themselves - long vertical and horizontal cracks where metal corner moldings have raised slightly. They flex when i gently press on them. Should I mud and tape them or can I get by (like a previous repair) using a utility knife to carefully trim/cut out the raised edges into a thin 'V' shaped channel and then fill with mud and sand smooth? I think that would be less sanding and resultant texturing than a complete tape job.. Wondering what would work best. As always, thanks for your help. Hello, not sure if this is the correct place for this. But I recently had a light installed and the electrician had to access the plate, he was unaware the wall was plaster so there is a small hole maybe an inch long and a 1/2inch to an inch heightwise. The wall is made of plaster (I was told it was a newer plaster) When I look in the hole I do not see much behind and it just looks like a typical hole. I was told to buy spackle, but also read that it is different when fixing and patching a hole in plaster. Does anyone have any suggestions or products that I should use to fix this hole?
