Large Drywall Repair :-(

Hi Guys, this hole is 55 x 144. I sheet rock I think is 4x8 ft.

How should I spice these pieces in. I would like to leave the sheet rock above the hole in place.

Thanks!

I am a sheetrock moron..

Drywall comes in 4x8 sheets and 4x12 sheets. You can also get it in sheets that are 54" wide.

First thing I'd do would be to cut the existing sheetrock in a straight line. I'd probably install a narrow ripper between the the old and the new which will result in a wide joint.
