I'm trying to repair the drywall on the corners of my walls that has been knocked off by the kids, the vacuum, etc. There is some kind of metal flashing on the corners and the drywall patch compound doesn't stick to it very well. Do I need to prime it? ....sand it? Any ideas?

patching corners

Never had this problem with the corners. but i always used the same mud I used in finishing the drywall. Maybe it is the patch material you are using. Maybe you should either use regular drywall mud or try to prime the metal bead then try your patch compound. Or check the consistancy of the compound. Too dry? To wet?
