I have a wonderful puppy who has "chewed" the baseboards on two corners and the base of the staircase around the post. Can I repair this myself or should I hire a professional? What is involved in this kind of a repair?

Cool

Puppies have to "teeth" and they just do their little thing.
I can't tell exactly what you're dealing with, but you may be able to fill it and smooth it out with sanded wood putty, or replace the woodwork, if necessary.
I would just wait a while until the little one quits teething. (I love dogs!) It will be worth it.
Good Luck! Mike
