plaster walls cracking in unheated house

Hello,
How do I prevent this problem?
The lath and plaster walls of my house are cracking because of the cold weather (it is -15 Celcius in Sundre, Alberta, Canada). It is only heated by wood fireplace when I am there on weekends

Cool

Cut you some 8" strips of black vinyl plastic screen wire.
Mud them in over the cracks just like you would do sheetrock tape.
The vinyl will expand and contract on your plaster wall, and prevent it from developing cracks.
Good luck!
Mike
