does any one know how to fix a hole in a metal door? thanks

Size and shape of hole? Liquid steel (comes in a tube) or an epoxy patcher should work unless it's a big hole.

The hole was made by a screw about 1/4 inch. Do I need to put anything in the hole first? Thanks for your help

That size hole probably not, but you might want to use just a little filler at a time and not try to fill the entire hole all at once. Build it up a little at a time until it's a little above the surface, then sand flush and paint.

Use "Bondo" same stuff to fix auto body. Easy to sand when dry.
