Amount of Food for Puppies?
I have 2 6-month old pug puppies and they weigh approx 18lbs and 20 lbs. I feed them twice a day, 1 cup each at each sitting? Do they weigh too much too soon? Should I reduce it to a total of 1 cup a day each? The Puppy Iams food bag says I should be feeding them even more, but that just doesn't feel right. Please advise.

At 6 mos. it sound like they may be a little overweight. My wife & I have 2 terriers,the Cairn is 6 yrs & weighs about 19 lbs.You can check with a vet but i would cut their food back to 1/2 cup in the morning & evening.Also checkout this site dogfancy.com

I would run them by the vet and get a recommendation there. One thing for sure, you don't want to have to put them on a diet to lose weight. Dogs just don't understand dieting.
