If odor persists, a vet-recommended recipe for skunk and dead animal odor can be used.
1 bottle hydrogen peroxide
1/2 bottle water
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon dog shampoo
Mix hydrogen peroxide with water. Add baking soda and dog shampoo. Mix and pour into a squirt bottle/sprayer. Spray entire bottle onto dog, being careful not to get it directly into his eyes/nose. Let everything stand for 5 to 10 minutes while working the solution into his fur. Rinse.
Hydrogen peroxide can bleach fabrics, so proceed with caution. It can also affect color of dog fur.

Why do they pick the most disgusting things to roll in?!
Earlier this spring mine rolled around on a dead fish in the mud. A bath pretty much took care of the smell. He was a little stinky the first few days.

Some feel that dogs roll in disgusting smelly things to mask their own scent. Others feel that they like the disgusting smell.
