growth in cat's eye
My cat has what looks like an enlarged pupil. It looks like something may be pushing it forward from behind. It is about the size of a small blackeye pea and black in color. It is the most noticable when you look from the side. The eye is clear, no tearing, nothing. The other eye is fine. Everything else about the eye appears normal. He is about 7 years old and is otherwise fine with no symptoms. Indoor cat. Just took the cat in to the vet and she had no idea. Will see visiting specialist in 2 weeks. Any ideas.

Steve,
I have not ever seen anything like what you are describing in all my years working as a vet tech. Does the eye seem to bother the cat or not? I am very curious as to what this may be.
I might venture a guess and say that it may be a detached retina, but, your vet should have been able to tell this with an exam...
Please let us know when you find out.

After a bit of research, it sounds like it might be Uveitis. I'm not a cat expert, but I'd check that site and see if it sounds like what your cat has got

i've never seen that before, you'd better take it to see the vet.i know that sometimes the pupil becomes small ,this is because poisoned by acid, alkali or organic phosphorus.and the pupil becomes large, that because the brain stem has been damaged.but maybe your cat is not that serious.anyhow,i advice you to take your cat to see the vet.
