Wild bird question
Ok bird people.
Cat brought in some sort of juvenile (early/mid flying stage) grosbeak (normally its sparrows), just saw an adult for the first time yesterday, beautiful little bird. She didn't get a chance to eat it as she had to show it to me first. Well, it got away from her, I put it outside. Thought it was prob dead/dying from wounds, but here it is 3 hrs later and I see it under a shrub near the front of the house, alert and alive. I'm sure it was caught in the rear of the house.
Looked at a couple of sites, doesn't really address this about wild birds. Wife says let nature take its course, but I know the young ones will dehydrate/starve pretty quickly. Don't think the adults will find it where it is, but maybe I'm wrong.
Should I try to move it back to the rear or what "she who must be obey'ed" says?
Prob have nature's answer by the time I get a reply
Oh, and please, no cat's killing birds should be shot stuff, ok? My yard, my cat, doing what she was designed by nature to do.

Ok..1 1/2 hrs later...bird is gone from where it was..so either able to fly away somewhere or ???. Cat's been inside so, its where it is and Nature's in charge.

It sounds like you are an animal person.I have found baby birds that could not fly. Most have been throne from the nest by mom or have fallen out. I have fed a few with a syringe until they could fly on there own. I raise peacock and a few chickens. So I had some practice already.

Well, I understand the balance of things. Cats will puke on the nicest rug you have. Dogs will crap in yer yard. Birds will poop on yer freshly washed and waxed car. I accept it and live with it.
Had a pet chicken (yep, pet chicken...would come when I called and sit on my shoulder) and dogs and cats as well growin up.
Just hope the bird makes it..getting tired of the sparrows hogging the feeders...lol
