Pet and plant safe alternative to rock salt

Isn't is funny how (at least with my cats), they are beyond fastidious when it comes to licking themselves. However, they never get rid of their eye crud.

Hello, my Boxer was seen by the vet 8 months ago for a lump on her side after lots of $ and stress it was found to be a hymatoma so that was great I was told it would go down in time not to drain it.I believe it is causing her no pain.I did have it tested for cancer and infection. My problem is it has not gone down it has gotten bigger. I tried to see if it would drain used a needle but it did not release much blood. She seems to be in no pain it just looks bad. I dont know if the vet would do anything or just leave well enough alone? Has anyone else had this kind of exsperience?
