Ultrasonic dog barking units
Hello,
I have two Rat Terriers that bark a lot. They drive me crazy when someone pulls into the driveway or approaches the house.
They both bark and then one's barking hurts the other's ears and he starts howling and then his howling hurts the other's ears and then they're both howling.....pitiful.
Anyway, I am toying with the idea of an Ultrasonic device that emits a high pitch sound when the dogs bark.
Has anyone used this type of device? Are they effective? Will they hurt the dog's ears?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Are they inside or outside?
If you know when the noise-producing event arrives, you can put them in a
back yard or rear room 10 minutes before (guessing...)
No info here on the ultrasonic units...
More information on the yard/driveway setup would
lead to more elaborate/expensive solutions maybe,
that others would suggest.
