where to take a sick cat

I need to put 2 cats up for adoption sense were moving sense my mom is getting divorced. one cat will stay with dad leaving us with 5. anyway one cat and we want to adopt out is sick peeing allot sometimes its blood and no one will want a sick cat. we don't have the money to take him to a vet due to moving on short notice. are there any places in Michigan in or around macomb county that would take a sick cat and fix him/her up for adoption without putting it to sleep cause its sick.

Flirty, contact your local Humane Society and ask if there is a No Kill shelter near you. They will have the best suggestions for your area. Or, you can also google for a No-Kill Shelter and see if there is anything in your area.

Sorry to hear about your situation, hope things work out ok for all.

Your county should also have an animal control shelter, besides the independant humane societies. The animal control shelters are usually less .."booked" and charge a small fee ($10) per animal. They will usually use the internet to show pictures of adoptable animals. So you can look at a picture of them in a cage later on and feel guilty. Which is nice.

Does the sick cat eat cat food or does someone feed it tuna fish? It may be something like a urinary tract infection. Do you see it squat often and try to pee when it doesn't have to?
I believe the animal control shelter will provide care for an animal and even like to let it run around the office area after it's well so they can be reminded why they do what they do.

the cat will squat and pee on the counter ontop of the fridge the floor in the corner. sometimes its bloody sometimes its not. the cat will also sometimes pee in the laundry tub. if i pick him up(if i catch him in time) and toss him on the potty(litterbox) he will go there. he will eat fine is still real friendly and will play sometimes but he just keeps peeing allot.

Flirty, sorry to hear this is happening. Hopefully someone at the Humane Soc, will be able to find him a good home. Will keep him in our thoughts.

As to the snippy people, hopefully she was just having a bad day. I would hate to think of that sort of person working with animals.

Honestly,

It is great to have enough compassion for animals to want a no-kill shelter for pets but you need to get real.
Your animal has been sick and likely in distress for some time.
Kill or not, it needs some kind of attention immediately!

I hunt and eliminate some rural pests but would not consider letting any creature potentially suffer like this.
Chatting online is fine but this thread has been going on for a week now.
Go and do something about it and tell us how it turns out.
