cat has Worms?

One of my cats which was a stray and adopted us never burys hers number 2s. I went to cover it up and noticed little white things crawling around on the cigars. Does that mean she has worms? one thing after another and I don't have no 1000 dollars to fix this.

Most likely worms...though I'm no expert. Shouldn't be too much more than some pills. If it's something severe..yes it might be a bit pricey. Hopefully Rhainey will be checking in to advise.

Oh....you need to make sure you check and bring to the Vet a fresh sample. I'm sure there's any number of insects who might lay eggs of some sort in something that has been outside for a while.

Since I brung the cat in she does not go outside nor does she ask to go out. She hasn't eating raw meat. Maybe the cat food was tainted. I will wait and see what rainyc has to say though. hope it can be cleared with just pills.

Flirty,

Most likely it is tape worms. If they looked like little pieces of rice crawling about, it's tape worms. Cats get them from eating (by mistake) fleas when they groom themselves. Your vet should be able to take a look, take a stool sample in, and will be able to give you either a pill, or give the cat a shot, to kill the worms. Only the cost of the office visit, and the med(s), either shot or pill. Neither one is expensive, and your vet might not even need a stool sample, just a good description.

tapeworms

Tapeworms are treatable with Revolution, which you can order online from Australian suppliers who do not require a script or you can get from a vet. It is not expensive. It will get rid of both the fleas and the tapeworms. Google Pet Megastore, but there are others. You can avoid any vet bills for this if you go to one of these suppliers. You will need to have an idea of the weight of the cat.
By the way, the tapeworms aren't going to do any immediate harm to your cat, and they don't have anything to do with eating raw food. They are transmitted by fleas only.

We're in the US here, not Australia.

Flirty,

Just give your vet a call, and see if he/she'll order you up some Droncet (tablets are cheapest) and then you can treat them all. Tape worms can cause troubles if you leave them untreated, but it takes a while. As I mentioned, your cats get them by ingesting fleas while grooming.

Flirty,

Perfect. Just be sure you dose them according to their weight and the directions on the bottle. It is the same as the droncet I was suggesting.

OK got the 2 bottles. I managed to give 2 of the 6 cats the medicine including the one cat who has worms but you can't give it to them like a dog(rolled up in ham etc) I had to force feed 2 of them by having them open their mouth and popping it in. cats are too smart to be fooled by the hide the medicine in food trick.

Flirty,

Just try to get them all to take it. If one has tapeworms, they all probably have them. I am glad you managed to at least get the two done. There is a cool pill-popper we used to use to give meds, though it doesn't work for all of them. It makes it easier overall. Here is one type:

Medication Dispensing Supplies for Cats

There are others as well, if you look at pet supplies online, using your favorite search engine. :-)
