Hello All!
I have a one year old German Shepherd mix named Charlie. Just like any other dog and human being, he gets the occasional eye booger. I wipe it off and we go on with life. This morning I woke up to his eyes leaking bright greenish yellowish goop. I wiped it off and 5 minutes later, the same amount, if not more, is back. He doesnt seem to be bothered by it so I just take a wet wash cloth and wash them up every half an hour. Should I try eye drops to see if they help? Could it be allergies? The eye drops I have are Equate Rewetting Drops and Bausch & Lomb Soothe Lubricant Drops....
Thanks

Leannr87,
Just like people, when you get coloured goop, it means infection. First and foremost, don't use people drops in his eyes, without checking with your vet first.
I would get him to the vet as soon as possible. If you have to wait until Tuesday (with the holiday weekend) keep them clean, as you have been doing and keep him from rubbing/pawing at it. Hopefully you will be able to get in touch with your vet soon, and they can see him and get him on anti-biotics.
Keep us posted on how he's doing.
