Wireless dog fence?

I found some information on a dog fence that you plug into an outlet in your home. No wires needing. Looks like it sends out a pulse to a collar until the dog gets too far away and then the collar sends a correction to the dog. The price tag was $279USD. Two questions:

Do these work well?

Is the price competitive with other brands? This was a PetSafe.

Had a neighbor who had something like that, they liked it pretty well.

I'd guess a lot will depend on your lot size/shape and placement of the transmitter.

Remember...the training part is the most important. If he runs at full speed out of the covered area..it will just keep shocking him and he won't know what to do.

Vic covered an important point that many people forget. You have to train the dog to the boundaries, so he doesn't accidentally run past and end up that situation, where he's getting a correction, but doesn't know how to stop it.

I have many folks I know who use these with great success. Do keep us posted and let us know how it goes.
