Can anyone tell me how these 2 chicken breeds will do as egg layers.one breed is the copper Maran and the next breed is the black sex link.The black sex link I'm looking at are about 17 months old according to seller and the copper Marana are 12 wks old.Any advice would be appreciated

Chickens will be the best layers before their first molt, so the younger chicken will be a better layer. As a chicken gets older the frequency of laying goes down.
