I have wasted more time and money than I like to think about trying to add Omega-3's and glucosamine to my dogs food.
Honestly I was not, am not, a 100% believer in supplements for humans or dogs...but I read up as much as I could and it seems the Omega 3's may be a valid supplement for dogs.
My 8 year old pitty has some arthritis, the vet recommended supplements, and other pain relievers when, if, needed.
He has hated most of what I have tried! So for the sake of KISS, any suggestions for Omega 3 supplements for dogs? I've tried Free Form which is a capsule you snip off the top and squirt the liquid into the food and Alaskan Omega 3 fish oil chews.
I keep changing his canned food, changing his kibble, changing his supplements, driving myself crazy!
I know you are not supposed to change your dogs kibble or canned food....but I do...and they seem to have strong stomachs, there is never any GI issues....just a matter of finding food they like. I swear they can be pickier eaters than the "traditional" cat!
I think I find a kibble or canned food they like, give it a few days, they gobble it up, then try adding the supplements, then it's fergedaboutit....they wont eat it!
Sorry for the rant, this is driving me crazy.
Could someone explain why I need a prescription from my vet for this dog food? I can understand it for insulin and syringes but dog food?
Looking at the ingredients I don't see any weed or anything like that, I just don't understand.
I get the insulin and syringes from my vet for my little guy, very well priced, I just don't understand the dog food prices from him or the internet.
Thanks
