EasyShare DX4900 Stopped Working

Well the title pretty much says it
I bought my gf an EasyShare DX4900 a few years ago
She told me the rechargable and spare lithium batteries were both dead
I went and bought extras of both
...no good...I just get nothing
Is there anyway to troubleshoot these things?
DIYable at all?
Take it to a pro?
Or are Digicams one of those "Well, for the cost of a pro to look at it, might as well put down a payment on a new one"-type deals?
Thanks in advance for any info or advice

If new batteries did not make the camera work then I can only suggest you make sure the battery contacts are clean and not bent.
Another thing to try is an AC adapter if you have one or placing it in the dock to see what happens.

Digital cameras are no different than computers in that by the time they wear out they have no value.

Thanks GregH
I tried cleaning and tried it "on the dock"
Nothing

Guess it's just done then...
Oh well

Yes, I think so.

Here is Kodak's troubleshooting guide for your camera.

Bah...
Well, pretty much what I expected at this point:

"Thank you for using the Interactive Troubleshooting Guide. The problem with your product appears to be something you cannot fix yourself. We recommend that you send your product to an authorized Kodak repair center for evaluation."

Looks like a pretty good troubleshooting guide though
Inasmuch as you can't really pop the top and fiddle with the innards
Seems to cover just about everything else though

I wonder what the "evaluation" would end up being?
