Is your Canon Digital Camera Broke? Don't toss it!

I just upgraded to the new Rebel XT, aka EOS 350d. Quite a camera and easy to use.
I was going to sell my G2 to a friend of mine, but when I went to demo the camera the internal flash would not work. I normally used a speedlite with it so I did not worry about the internal flash as I did not use it. I found out by calling Canon they do free estimates for repairs and they also have an update program for Canon owners. Not only that, but they pay for the return of your old camera and all they want is the camera, not the accessories.
They took my camera in trade, and offered the G6, which uses most of the accesories that the G2 uses, to me for $299. That's about 1/2 of what they sell for right now. 4 Megapixel to 7 megapixel just like that.
So, my wife also had a G2 and we sold it to our friend and my wife now gets the G6.
If you have a broken Canon camera and want to replace it I would think a phone call is recomended.
