Anyone know where I can find large transparency sheets? I mean LARGE as in 4 ft. x 8 ft. Do they even make them in such large sizes?

 

Is it overhead projector type transparency you want?

Here is a place with a 24" wide roll.
Didn't see anything wider but you might find it with an extended search.

How about a 4x8 sheet of 1/8" plexiglas? A little thicker than transparency material, of course.

While we're on the subject, can transparency sheets be printed on in color? I can't remember back to elementary school if the overhead projector sheets were in color or just black & white.

I can't say exactly what I'm doing because I want to have a competetive edge, but it's going to be used for an artsy, interior design idea that I've had for a while.

 

Small (8 1/2 x 11) transparency sheets can be printed directly in color or B&W.

Go to an Office Max, Office Depot or Staples. The sheets are available for both inkjet and laser printers in the paper area. - Just like printing a photo.

If you need a very LARGE transparency and do not need absolute top quality, you can carefully trim and piece individual pages to a clear backing. You crop a single large photo, so minor overlapping is not noticeable, or you trim very carefully. Being very familiar with the software is necessary. - It is best to mount the prints so the exposed surface is really the backing and the prints are protected from damage by the clear "backing".

Go buy a HP DesignJet 5500ps and the transparentcy roll of 60''X100'. You will be all set to go.

Yes, HP DesignJet do print in color.
