Using old Minolta lenses on a new digital body?

I have a Minolta Maxim (about 12 years old). I would like to use the lenses and external flash on a new digital body. Can this be done?

Thanks!

You can use film camera lenses if they will fit, but because the spacing between the lens and ccd and a lens and film is different the focal length will not be the same
You will also have to use manual settings as the lenses will not have the electronics to operate them.

You have to be very carefull with strobes that are not dedicated to the camera.
Many older strobes have contact voltages that are very high and can damage the digital camera's circuitry.
There is a device called a Safe-Sync that mounts on the hot shoe on which you mount the strobe.
It has a sensitive cct breaker that will protect the camera.
I use one on my Nikon and have not had any problems.

Is there a digital slr camera that will accept Minolta lenses?

I know this is a month old, but....

The Sony Alpha dSLR is compatible with most of the old KM accessory - legacy Maxxum/Dynax/Alpha lenses.

Rapture,

Thanks for the tip.
I didn't know about the Sony/Minolta connection.

I forgot to mention the specifics about the difference in focal length between digital and film.

The differences vary slightly but the difference is that the focal length of a film lens on a digital camera is roughly 1 1/2 times.
This means that a 100 mm film camera lens will be about 150 mm on a digital.
