Camera phone pic of e-cig smoke partially/fully disappears.....

...even though I see huge puff of the e(electronic)-cig water vapor steam smoke as I click the photo! Have tried capturing facing the light and away from the light, and same result. Just like tryign to look at vampire in mirror. How do you explain this one?!

I was able to capture ample smoke though with puff coming straight at me. But not doing a side view. Strange. Tried many many snapshots, with same results; I see it real clearly in viewfinder, and as soon as pic is captured, it vanishes. Yet the entire pic remains as clear as I saw it in viewfinder!

Your camera is no match for the abilities of your eyes and brains, especially a camera phone.
To take proper pictures like what you are attempting take knowledge of photographic principles and lighting.

To take a pic of something like smoke which is very similar to fog or mist require the light to be coming from a certain angle and for the background to be a contrasting color.

If you can upload the pictures you have taken to a site like photo bucket and provide a link we can take a look and offer suggestions.

Okay, I will try more photos at different angles, lighting and colors. You would not want to see a picture of that ugly guy I am taking.

Hey, Ec, what type smoke is that? Remember the 60's? You may have gotten too much!

It's the old saying.."If you remember the 60's, you weren't really there."

Chandler, I changed my mind. I remember the 60's, but not the early 70's! (cough, again!)

Some of those people back then sure did get messed up. And many of the finest musicians of that era had short lives.

I can't find record that 1968-1973 ever existed. Odd. Can anyone confirm that?

Ha. Well? I have some coins from then. Also some record albums that claim at least to have come from that time. Does paisley confirm it?, or are we a couple years too late?

Naw, paisley was '70's, but ty die was 60's. You know, the shirts that looked like a LSD trip? Coins don't count......they are from the government. But you may have something on the records. Hey, kids nowadays don't even know what a "record" is.

I cherish my records and take good care of them. Many do not have a scratch. I'm kind of fussy about everything actually. And that is why people like using me for work.
