Question Keystone K109 8mm Projector

I need to replace the motor speed control for a Keystone K109 8mm projector. The original is a porcelain rheostat style that I have been unable to locate and wondered if some other type of motor controller could substitute. I do not know about the motor but the OEM control is rated 7A 115V. Might a fan motor control work--they are readily available.

Thumbs up Welcome to our forums!

If the control you need is a rheostat the motor must be a dc motor.
Fan controls are normally electronic and for ac only.

You will have to dig a little deeper into the circuitry to see exactly what type of motor is in the projector and how the rheostat is wired in.
