Expired film

Expired film

I have 2 kodak fun saver cameras with exp date of 6/2009

Are they still ok to use?

I wouldn't use them for anything that you absolutely can't miss capturing (kids birthdays, births, etc). If they have been stored in a relatively controlled area (not the trunk of a car or the attic) I would probably use them. Try one..see how it works..then use the other later.

You don't pay for prints that don't come out at most places...

From time to time we've stuck an old camera in the drawer and forgot about it, got it out a year or two later, finished the roll, had it developed and were pleasantly surprised with the first pictures that were taken years earlier. Since setting in a camera for a few yrs doesn't seem to affect the film, I suspect your film should be ok.

I agree with Vic's advice about heat and taking important pics

Although I love the results of my film cameras, I usually develop them right away. However I found 4 exposed rolls in my office. They have to be at least 2 years old. I'll take them to CVS tomorrow and let y'all know how they come out. Have no idea what they are about.

On the other side, I had an expired roll and when I took it to get developed, they all came out blank! May depend on the brand, I guess? I'd listen to Vic on this one.
