need to identify these cameras
hi i have inheirited a couple of things that i think must be underwater cameras. i would like to find out what they are and what i need to get them up and running.one is orange and white. it has watec on the front and EIA on top. it is about three inches around and has a single cable with a quik connect fitting on the end. the other one is about the same size but with an aluminum body with no markings at all. it too has a single cable but with eight wires inside.the two cables are taped together as though the two were deployed together. the cables are roughly twenty feet long. from the searching i have done they seem like they must be underwater cameras so i would like to find out what else i need.i will try to figger out how to add pics. thanks

Does it happen to look like this Watec dome security camera?

Or this Watec underwater camera?

There is some info on their site and B&H Photo seems to carry much of their line.
Their cameras all seem to be analog and if the connector looks like the one in the lower image you can get an adapter that will allow you to plug it into the video in of a TV.
There should be a second connector for power which is normally 12 volts dc.

hi thanks for your response. i looked at the b h photo site and the closest one looks like the wat 400d with instead a solid case with cable going in one end and lens at the other. i did find a pic of a wat 300dh3 a very close match to the other one. if these are something i can drop over the side of my boat and see all the fish that i am not catching, do they make a 12 volt monitor or would i need to use an inverter. i have a canoe so no power except 12 v battery.i would like to find the other part eg. watt200rx but for the 300 and 400 and power adapter. thanks again for your help. al

You could use a small sealed lead acid battery to power the camera which would cost about $25.00 and could charge it with an automotive charger.
A more convenient option might be a car starter battery that usually has a 12 volt receptacle and comes with a charger.
You can find these on sale for not too much money.
To test the camera you may be able to find a 12 volt DC wall adapter and adapt it to fit the camera's connector. 250 ma output and up should handle those cameras.
A TV with an RCA video input would allow you to play with the cameras before you invest in a monitor
For viewing in a canoe you could try a portable DVD player player that has a video input and there are small viewers made for game cameras that have video input connectors..
What connectors are on the cable ends and how long are the cables?

Hey gregh sorry for the delay. The cables are about thirty feet long.the one i will call the 300 has a bnc ?? Fitting on a coaxial cable. The other (400) has six small colored wires and two slightly bigger ones with are black and white and these had a male plug crudely taped on. This turnsout to be power to the led lights. The other six, red, orange, yellow, green, purple and blue were unattached. Both cables were coupled all the way down with rather professional looking rubber sleeves a foot or so apart.

this has just become a bit simpler. from what i have read the three hundred is not submersible the 400 is.so i separated the cables and found a joint that i had not seen before on the 400 cable. unwrapping it i find the six colored wires are not attached at either end. so that leaves the black and white which can be fixed with a bnc fitting to connect with the 400rx box with the power and video. i will find one of these and i should be set. i wouldnt say i know what im doing but im gettin there. thanks for your help.
