Motorhome split windshield replacement....Questions, please

Our 2003 Class A driver's side glass has a huge crack and will be replaced. Insurance Co. has opened a claim.

Our claims agent told me that in 80% of the claims of this nature....the undamaged glass will break when replacing the damaged glass Anyone out there have first or second-hand knowledge of this ?

Other question concerns the windshield gasket: Can it be reused or is a new one needed ?

No adjuster out here to inspect yet. I have asked this be done.

Any and all comments are much appreciated. I know zilch about this subject.

While I have no knowledge about your motor home, it's common place to replace the gasket at the same time - makes installation easier and less likely to leak.

I would imagine a 14 year old gasket would need to be replaced.

A mobile tech was here on Sunday to replace the windshield. No problems at all. Old gasket was reused. Silicone was used to seal, not urethane. Insurance picked up the cost, minus $100 deductible.
