Refrigerator Problem

The refrigerator in my RV has stopped cooling. The gas and electric functions work but does not cool. Instead of replacing it with the same unit I was wondering if I could install a compact under the counter refrigerator (110V) and operate it via an inverter while on the road and then switching to normal 110V power at a campsite. Does anyone know if this is feasible or would a refrigerator with a compressor not function while traveling.

Thanks, Ben

im sure it would probably work they do make them that runs on 12 volt and would save you from buying an invertor, and most can also be used on 110 a/c with a step down transformer adapter.

You're not going to beleive this but the solution may be as simple as pulling the old refrigerator out and turning it upside down. This dislodges a crystalized particle in the evaporator orifice and allows the refrigerant to circulate again. Try it. It worked for the dometic refer in my RV.
