Question engine under water!!!

My 1996 Dodge 1500 4x4, 318 engine pickup went into a ditch of water down here in Corpus Christi, flooding to mid-door/dashboard level. Trying to save. Tried changing spark plugs, the starter is fine. Could the block be blown? The truck will not start, and I don't know what to do next. Please help. Thank you.

Was the engine running when it went in the ditch? If so and it sucked a load of water, quite possible you broke something (water does not compress well). Might want to pull the plugs and do a compression test on all cylinders. Also, with that much water, there's no telling what it may have gotten into as far as electrical/electronic stuff. You may be in for some extensive troubleshooting.

If it ingested water, a chance of bending a rod. comp. test will show it.
Mabe checkiing/cleaning elect connections (sensers) will help.
PCM may be a casualty too, possibilities are endless/
