1988 Mazda B2200 Carb, 5 speed

As my speed reaches around 52-55 MPH it is as if you turned the key off for a split second and back on. Why only at these speeds? Otherwise it runs great?

if you are going over 55 does it still act up?
if you have a vacum advance on the distributer try unplugging the vacum line and then seeing if it still does it.

you may have an ignition component breaking down such as plug wire or bad plug, whens the last time it has been tuned up and wires changed.
if you floor it does it get worse or go away if it goes away it may be an egr valve opening to much you can drive the vehicle with the vacum line unplugged from the egr valve to see if it still acts up.
