Ford Truck PTO

I recently bought a 1990 F250 fwd 300 six cylinder for a work truck. While changing the oil I noticed two cover plates, one on each side of the 5 speed transmission that look like a place for a pto unit. Is a pto available for these transmissions and if so where would I find one? Many Thanks.

Chelsea & Muncie are the 2 major manufacturers of PTO's. I don't know where you are located but see if there is an outfit called Power Train or Force America near you. They both handle Chelsea PTO's. They will want to know the make & model number of the transmission, what you will be driving with it, etc... If it will be driving hydraulic components, I think they can help with that too.

Starter keeps turning

I have a 96 Chevy Silverado with 5.8 Liter. I replaced the starter and when I try to connect the battery cables to the battery, the starter will automatically turn the engine over. I have checked all of the relays and fuses. Has anyone else had this problem on any similar or other types of vehicles?Read More

Truck vs Wind

Hi, I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota and have no problem with everday running around, however, I have noticed lately that when driving across Alligator Alley here in Fl., I feel like the truck is affected by the wind. It's a scary feeling when your going 70-75mph. Does anyone know if this is common with small trucks or just the Dodge? I had new tires put on a month or so ago, could this be part of the problem? Is there any remedy to correct this blown away feeling? Appreciate any advice.Read More
