transmission shiftpoints

vehicle--1985 3/4T GMC 4X4; TH400

PROBLEM--SHIFTPOINTS CHANGED;

QUESTION--WHAT CONDITIONS CONTRIBUTE TO THIS SYMPTOM?

SO FAR--CHANGED THE MODULATOR, PROBLEM DID NOT CHANGE

ANY IDEAS?

If its vacuum modulator on it, a vacuum leak on the other end could contribute. Or your valve bodies inside the transmission could be getting gummed up. That is about all I can think of, but transmissions are not my strong point.

re:transmission shiftpoints

thanks for the reply;

I hadn't considered the valvebody situation;

this a.m. took rig to mech. who discovered and replaced an oil

soaked vacuum line which proved to be the cause of the problem.

tnx agn,

roy
