replacing the fuel pump on a 1978 360 dodge engine

Is there a trick to holding the fuel pump push rod up while installing a mechanical fuel pump on the 360 dodge LA blocks?

On a small block chev you were able to place a longer bolt in at the bottom of the water pump, which would hold the push rod in place.

Thank you for a reply,

I have coated the pushrod with white grease to hold it in place.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Thanks for the grease tip

Upon removing the old pump, I found that the pump runs on an eccentric which is directly in front of the timing chain.

made for reinstalling an easy process.
