The first step is to find out where it is leaking for sure. Wash off the oil on the motor and start clean. Make sure after you clean it off to fill the oil to the proper level. Now drive on a few short trips then come home and see if you can tell where it is coming from. If its at the rear of the motor it is more than likely the rear main seal. If its coming from the front of the engine it the front cover oil seal. Itís the easier of the two to fix. To change the rear seal you must drop the transmission. Your over heating problem might or might not be related, but i would fix the leak and do an oil change and see where that gets you. Have you checked your cooling system for leaks and low fluid?

Matt,

Thankyou, I'll try that. I'm afraid it is the rear
