Question Horse Trailer Floors

I don't know if anyone can help me here. I need to replace the boards in my 2 horse bumper pull. We've already pulled the boards and now have to figure out how to put new boards in. On the support beams are posts that stick up 1 1/2". Are we supposed to drill holes in the boards and place them over the posts? Its the only logical thing I can think of, but then again, I'm blonde.

I am little confused are you talking about the boards the horses stand on? If so I would do as you thought and attach the boards to the supports. If you donít think it will be sturdy enough you can always weld or have welded in more supports.

Are you sure those "posts" aren't the rusty remains of wood or lag screws that were run in from the bottom into the old boards? Used to have horses and trailers and never saw what you describe.
