Building a Bed

I was contemplating making a new truck bed out of steel tubing and just welding the body panels on. I could easily design it with a bed lift already in place and later bag my truck with a 4-link.

What size wall thickness do I want? I plan on using square tubing.

How high does my floor have to be from the top of the bed to clear my rear axle for a 4-link?

Thanks,
Mathius

Bed's

I have seen quite a few frame/bed additions made with 0.120 Square tubing. The clearance you need all depends on how you build or set up your suspension system. There is also the question of how you will use your truck; each use will require different set up for maximum performance.
