1996 GMC Sierra/Transmission

Hello All,
My problem today is transmission (automatic-4 spd) shifting. I have to get the RPMs up high to get it to upshift or downshift. I believe the trans. model is a 4L60 (16 bolt pan). During operation, the torque is very low and the resulting speed is low as well. I asking if there is any way to determine whether my problem is torque converter, fluid pump or what. I've changed the filter and screen and had a slight temporary improvement in operation. Thanks.

Sounds like time for a rebuild. You are loosing pressure somewhere. Those trannies are known for weak pumps and losing pressure. Do your homework and find a reputable transmission shop to give you a 100% for sure diagnosis.
Hope this is helpful to ya,
Billy
